Molded Type

Product Overview

MOLDED TYPE

Molded type rubber expansion joints are designed for piping systems to absorb pipe movements, relieve stress, reduce noise/vibration, compensate for misalignment/offset and to protect rotating mechanical equipment.

Spherical molded expansion joints differ from hand wrapped (spool type) joints in the final product as well as the method of manufacture. Molded type expansion joints incorporate the movement and vibration dampening capability of a spool joint into a compact and robust device. Molded type expansion joints are available in several sizes and variations.

  • Single-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints
  • Twin-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints
  • Stainless Steel Single-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joint
  • Stainless Steel Twin-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints

Threaded Union Molded Rubber Expansion Joints

Single-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints

Single-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints, suitable for suction and delivery applications. These molded rubber expansion joints can absorb motion and reduce stress. They come with ANSI Class #150 drilled flanges and can be customized with ANSI Class #300 and DIN-rated flanges.

Features

  • Applicable for suction and delivery (discharge).

  • Provides sound and vibration isolation.

  • Gaskets and packing are not required.

  • Floating flanges allow for easy installation.

  • Prevents piping system and equipment breakdown by absorbing elongation and contraction caused by temperature variances.

  • Absorbs water pulsation and minimizes water hammering.

Application

  • Pumps & air compressors in air conditioning system & sanitary equipment.

  • Refrigeration systems and blowers in industrial plant equipment.

  • Feed-water and drainage equipment in marine piping systems.

  • Applicable for use in power generation and chemical plants.

  • Marine applications

Twin-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints

Twin-Sphere Molded Rubber Expansion Joints are suitable for reducing sound and vibration in suction and delivery applications. This twin sphere design includes ANSI Class #150 drilled flanges, but may be customized with ANSI Class #300 and DIN-rated flanges.

Features

  • Applicable for suction and delivery (discharge).

  • Designed for greater compression, elongation, and angular movement than the single sphere expansion joint.

  • Excellent for absorbing thermal expansion and eliminating sound and vibration.

  • Gaskets and packing not required.

  • Good electrical insulator.

  • Absorbs water pulsation and minimizes water hammering.

Application

  • Pressure piping systems in building equipment and general industrial plants.

  • Pump and turbine lines used for power generation plants, industrial machinery and universal pump blowers.

  • Feed-water & drainage lines for waterworks & sanitary piping systems.

  • Pipelines for industrial plants and shipbuilding yards.
